Yixing Collection - Tripod Buddha with Removable Lid
Hand cast reproduction of Classic Tang Dynasty Vessels
The pieces available in our Yixing Collection are handmade by one potter and each piece is signed with "chop" marks. The firing process, along with the special mix of clays gives each piece a unique Antique bronze finish.
About this piece:
Our Tripod Buddha Incense Burner measures 5.5" across and sits 6" high. Openwork on both the lid and face of this piece allows the smoke from cones or resin incense to pour out. Crafted with a stand in the center for cones/charcoal to rest on, or fill with ash or sand and burn your favorite stick incense.

More About Yixing Pottery:
YiXing (pronounced ee-shing) vessels first appeared during the Sung Dynasty (960-1279) in the YiXing region of China, located in the Jiangsu province, about 120 miles northwest of Shanghai. This area of China is the world's only source for the unique purple clay (known as zisha) from which YiXing pottery is made.
